How Much Does Medical Marketing Cost in 2026? What Practices Really Pay

Ask five medical marketing agencies what they charge and four will tell you to book a call. That is not a pricing model, it is a sales funnel. Here is what practices report paying, what we charge at Kamak Web, and how to tell whether any of it is worth it.

Short version

Surveys put the average practice at about $1,371 a month on marketing, with simple setups from $500 and growth plans from $2,000 to $5,000. Our plans start at $249 a month, plus an ad budget that you pay straight to Google or Meta.

What practices say they spend

There is no official price list, so we pulled what the published sources say. Treat all of it as a range, because most come from vendors and none of them agree perfectly.

  • A Zocdoc survey put the average practice at about $1,371 a month, split roughly evenly between digital and offline marketing, with a solo internist near $250 to $300 and a plastic surgeon at $5,000 to $10,000 (Zocdoc).
  • A MarketMuse guide from 2021 describes $500 to $2,000 a month for a basic online presence and $2,000 to $5,000 for a growth plan (MarketMuse).
  • Doctorlogic puts a medical SEO agency at roughly $800 to $2,000 a month, and warns that bargain offers often outsource the work (Doctorlogic).
  • Improvado reports that most practices spend 1 to 5 percent of revenue, with aggressive growth pushing it toward 10 to 14 percent (Improvado).

The takeaway is simple: a small practice can start for a few hundred to a couple of thousand dollars a month, and specialty practices with big-ticket procedures often spend much more.

Two bills, not one: our fee and your ad budget

Most confusion comes from mixing these up. The agency fee pays for people and work. The ad budget is the money Google, YouTube or Meta charge to show your ads, and it never passes through us.

At Kamak Web the fees are public: Google Ads from $299 a month, SEO from $500, Facebook and Instagram ads from $249, social media from $399, and bundles from $699. Details are on our medical marketing page, including a worked example of a $1,049 plan with a $2,000 ad budget.

Demand is not the problem. In Google Keyword Planner for the US, “urgent care near me” sits in the 1M to 10M searches a month range, “doctor near me” and “pediatrician near me” in the 100K to 1M range, and “medical marketing agency” itself in the 1K to 10K range. The question is how many of those people reach you and how many of them you can count.

How to judge whether it is worth it

Forget impressions. Ask for three numbers every month: calls, booked new-patient visits and cost per booked visit. If your average new patient is worth $1,200 over a year and a booked visit costs $155, that is a good month. If nobody can show you the number, that is the problem.

  • Cost per booked new patient (not cost per click).
  • Calls and forms by source: map, ads, website.
  • Booked versus completed visits, so no-shows do not hide inside the report.

Rules you should not ignore

Health marketing carries extra rules. Keep tracking tags off booking and intake pages, read the HHS guidance on HIPAA and marketing, and read Google’s healthcare ad policy before you promise anything in an ad. We build privacy-aware setups, but your compliance officer has the final say.

Frequently asked questions

What is a fair monthly medical marketing budget?

For a small practice, a few hundred to about $2,000 a month in total is common, plus an ad budget if you run ads. Specialty and growth-focused practices often spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more.

Is SEO or Google Ads better for a doctor?

Ads bring calls within days, SEO and Google Maps take two to four months but keep working. Most practices need both, in that order of speed.

Do you charge setup fees?

Yes, small one-time setup fees are listed on each plan, so there are no surprises.
